Yellow Anise (Illicium parviflorum 'Forest Green')

Full sun to shade

Low to average amounts of water

12-15 ft tall x 10-15 ft wide

Bloom time: Summer

This dark green-leaved shrub produces greenish yellow blooms in the summer. The dense foliage can be left untrimmed for a more wild setting, but takes to pruning and hedging well. It needs adequate watering during the establishing period, but will eventually be drought tolerant. It is cold hardy and traditionally found in shady areas, but is adaptable to the sun. When crushed, the leaves have a slight licorice scent.
