Upland Twinflower (Dyschoriste oblongifolia)

I bloom best in full to part sun.

Average water needs

Size:     0.5-1 ft tall x 1 ft wide

Bloom Time: Spring, Summer, Fall

I am a lovely native ground cover for full sun to part shade. I am more drought tolerant that my cousin, the swamp twinflower, but I will do better with average amounts of water. I am not cold tolerant, but will reemerge if hit by a frost. My small purple blooms are attractive to bees and butterflies and like my cousin, I am a host plant for the common buckeye butterfly. Other butterflies that are attracted to my blooms include the malachite and white peacock butterfly.
