Teabush (Melochia Tomentosa)

I grow well in full sun.

I have average water needs.

Size:     10 ft tall x 4-5 ft wide

Bloom Time: Spring, Summer, Fall

This lovely olive green shrub with velvety leaves thrives in open areas with dry sandy soil. In the summer, it produces lovely purple blooms that are extremely attractive to the bees and butterflies. It must be planted in full sun to survive and will eventually die with too much shade. The plant is native to Florida, Texas, Puerto Rico and Mexico. This particular shrub is hard to find because very few native nurseries grow it.
