Swamp milkweed is a great native milkweed for wet areas. It is a host plant for the monarch, soldier, and queen butterflies. The caterpillars will eat all of its leaves, but they will come back. It needs a lot of water so plant it where my feet will stay wet. It also goes dormant in the winter, but it will reemerge in the spring.
