Railroad Vine (Ipomoea pes-caprae subsp. brasiliensis)

 Blooms best full sun.

Low water needs

Size: 0.5 ft tall- 60 ft wide

Bloom Time: Year around

This vining native makes a nice groundcover in an informal dry yard. In nature, it is an important stabilizer of beach dunes and is very salt tolerant. This particular plant gets its name from the long stems that take off in the distance like railroad tracks. Although not very common in a home landscape, it would look lovely weaving in and out of a white picket fence. Fun Fact: This vine can grow up to 1 foot a day!
