Pale passionvine is a state-endangered passionvine found naturally in the southern portion of Florida. Its foliage and bloom color are different from some of the other native passionvines. It tolerates low lights and will climb up trees in forests and hammocks to reach more light. The blooms are pollinated by bumblebees and it produces a fruit similar in size to the Maypop Passionflower. Unlike the Maypop, its fruit is not very sweet, but it is still a host plant for the Gulf Fritillary and Zebra Longwing butterfly.
