Oakleaf Hydrangea (Hydrangea quercifolia)

Thrives in the shade.

Needs an average to moist environment.

Size:    8 ft tall x 6 ft wide

Bloom Time: Spring

Oakleaf hydrangea is a staple in southern gardens. It produces huge beautiful white blooms in the spring. It is an understory plant, which means it likes to be shaded by other trees. It will thrive with a little morning sun under an oak tree. It likes regular watering, so plant it where it can get some run off from a roof or another regular source of water. The oakleaf hydrangea has beautiful bark, and its leaves turn a lovely shade of red and orange in the fall before it loses its leaves for the winter.
