Lanceleaf Tickseed (Coreopsis lanceolata)

Blooms best in full sun to part shade.

Low water needs

Size: 1 ft tall x 1 ft wide

Bloom Time: Spring-summer

Lanceleaf tickseed, or lanceleaf coreopsis, typically blooms in spring (and in my experience, the fall). It occurs naturally in moist sandhills, marshes, and along swamp edges but is extremely adaptable and drought tolerant for a home landscape. Lanceleaf tickseed is a wonderful wildflower that attracts butterflies and other pollinators. It’s seeds are commonly eaten by birds and small wildlife. It is a prolific self-seeder and may become weedy if not maintained.
