Fiddlewood (Citharexylum spinosum)

Full to Part Sun

Low Water Needs

Size:     15-25 tall x 12 ft wide

Bloom Time: Year Around

Fiddlewood is an excellent specimen plant or used as a privacy screen. You can try trimming the plant as a hedge, but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t cooperate because of its long arching branches. The white fragrant flowers attract wide variety of pollinators and the berries eaten by many species of wildlife. The shiny green leaves, gently fragrant flowers, and glossy berries make this a charming plant.

Fun Fact: The strong and heavy wood of this plant is also the source of its name - it has long been used for musical instruments, including violins and guitars.
