Fetterbush (Lyonia lucida)

I bloom best in the sun, but will tolerate some shade.

I have low to average water needs.

Size: 2-6ft tall x 4 ft wide

Bloom Time: Late Winter and Spring

This brightly colored native shrub produces lovely bell-shaped pink blooms in the spring. It likes moist but well drained soil,  but it can tolerate periods of drought. The new growth is a light reddish colored, and as it ages, the leaves turn a shiny bright green. The flowers are a favorite of bees and the dark berries are eaten by wildlife.
