Dwarf Fakahatchee (Tripsacum floridanum)

I like the sun but will do okay in part shade.

I need an average amount  of water.

Size:     2-3 ft tall x 2-3 ft wide

Bloom Time: Spring

The native Fakahatchee grass is a great addition to the damp areas in your yard. I form a nice clump and work well as an accent plant. The leaves are a bit sharp, but the lovely white, pink, and rust colored blooms make up for it. I am great at stabilizing banks of lakes, rivers, and ponds. Feel free to prune me back, but it is not necessary. I am a host plant for the Byssus Skipper butterfly.
