It likes continual wet feet, so do not let it dry out. In the winter, it may disappear, but will return in the spring. The blooms may be open for a month and are attractive to hummingbirds and large butterflies. It can be attacked by a variety of insects, so make sure to pick off the bugs or the plant may not recover.
