If you like whimsical Dr. Seuss flowers, then I am the perfect plant for you! I work well in a wildflower garden with average soil. Butterflies and native bees enjoy my blooms and the bumpy leaves are interesting to touch and look at. I also go by the name Rattlesnake Master. This name is believed to come from the tales recounted by 18th Century Indian trader James Adair in which Native Americans chewed the root of this plant, blew it on their hands, and then proceeded to handle rattlesnakes with no harm.

Another common name for this plant is rattlesnake master.
