Black-eyed susans are an annual or short lived perennial that will look lovely in your butterfly garden. It may disappear after blooming, but if you sprinkle the seeds in the garden after drying, it will return the next spring. Various birds love to snack on its dried seed heads and the bees and butterflies love its nectar when blooming. It is a quintessential Southern wildflower that you won’t regret planting.
